Paid for Plus, paid for ads to go away, only to have ads replaced with a Talkatone ad that offers to make the ads go away. Then my messages were throttled because Talkatone deemed that I was sending too many outgoing messages too fast. Gee, thanks, Dad! (I was throttled by the time I tapped "send" for the third message!) I'm only keeping the app until my main phone is fixed, then I'm cancelling everything and uninstalling. Great work, team.

Life saver in my time of need. When my phone broke and I was trying to get a new phone, I went through a month period with no working number. I was using an outdated phone, and talkatone was an easy fix to be able to get calls and texts for work. The only thing I didn't like was that I did have to pay to remove ads and receive verification codes for emails and apps, but it was $1.99, so I can't complain too much, however, in earlier versions of this app, this feature was free.

The app was much better before it automatically started downloading GIF and JPEG links and forcing you to send them that way. Half the time I get an error message telling me "this file is too large." I don't like that and there is no alternative. I just have to mar the link to send it. Edit 11FEB2019: the app now shows up with two icons and looks as if it opens itself twice.

This app WAS great because unlike others, it didn't require me to have service and a phone number to set up and use in the first place, and one of the ONLY that didn't. But now, it not notifying me half the time when I get calls or texts. And my ability to make outgoing calls had completely stopped! it just says "unable to complete call currently" or something like that. It could totally be this cheap, POS Android phone somehow. I don't recall this problem on my up phone. My advice: Worth a try.

Works semi well. Not as well as when initially gotten and download it. Not visually impaired friendly, needed to memorize where buttons were because does not say what the buttons are just says button. Phone calls work well incoming and outgoing although people have extremely hard time hearing my voice. Used to be able to use headphones so they could hear me but makes no difference now. Need to fix problem please. Otherwise great app.

This used to be great to have as a backup line, but now, I can't send any text or make any calls. I still receive texts, which is odd, but can't make calls which is primarily why I have it. I tried on a different phone, with the same result. Nothing has changed on the old phone on which I have been using it for years via wifi-only. It's a Samsung Galaxy S3 SPH-L710 with android 4.4.2, and talkatone worked fine on it about 3 weeks ago, but now does not make calls or send texts at all. I try to make a call, but the dialing screen doesn't even come up, it just immediately adds an entry into the call log with 0 seconds of call time. I tried it on another one of my phones, just to see if it would work, and had the same result. I have tried all the usual troubleshooting options (clearing cache, uninstall/reinstall, etc.), cetificate is fine. Another similar program works fine on this phone, so I've isolated it to being a talkatone problem, not a problem with my phone or setup. I hope they get it fixed very soon, this is the first time I've really had a problem, but it's been ongoing for days now. At least 3 - 4 days.
